OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2009. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced the signed documents between Ukraine and Japan will enable to introduce environmental programs in Ukraine. The Head of Government announced at a solemn ceremony of signing the Agreement between the National Agency for Ecological Investments of Ukraine and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan.

Yulia Tymoshenko stressed the mentioned instruments will give chance to realize the program of Kyoto Protocol on reduction of harmful emissions to the atmosphere in Ukraine and to launch the process of strategic cooperation between the two states. According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine at the account of selling of quotas will be improving ecological situation within the country as well as energy supply system.

“We are deeply grateful to Japan that has started this good tradition so that the whole world is able to be using such effective instrument,” the Head of Government accentuated.

Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized the financial resources received in the result of signing the document would facilitate maintaining cooperation between the two states in introduction of advanced technologies in the ecologic sphere and “will enable improvement of environment and forming of a new ecological and energy saving policy”.

In his turn, the chairman of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization Seiji Murata stressed signing of the documents is the biggest in the green investment scheme in the world. “That’s why the whole world will be tracking this event with great attention,” Seiji Murata opined.

At the same time, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Tadashi Idzava hopes cooperation of the two states would contribute to the development of energy saving policy in Ukraine: “I believe bilateral relations will be advancing further and not only in the ecologic area but in the whole industrial sector”.
