OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2009. In 2008, turnover of international money transfer system UNIStream in Moldova amounted to US481 million, increasing by 44% as compared to 2007.

Such high business growth in the republic is explained by the rapid development of the partnership network and the expansion of the clients’ base.

In his comments to the results of 2008, the General Director of UNIStream Suren Ayriyan noted that Moldova is one of the main countries in CIS, which forms the flow of the labor migrants. According to him, this fact together with modern banking infrastructure and high degree of integration of the Moldovan banks in the European banking system will make the republic a very attractive corridor of money remittances.

The director of UNIStream noted that as of late 2008, the number of service points in Moldova grew up to 770. They operate in 68 towns of the country. 270 service points operate in Chisinau. 17 UNIStream partners function in Moldova.
