OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2009. The Bank of Moscow has become the winner of the bids organised by the Deposit Insurance Agency State Corporation to pay off insurance indemnity to the depositors of OJSC Municipal Commercial Bank located in Kaliningrad. Claims for payment of insurance indemnity can be accepted from March 19, 2009 to September 19, 2009, in Kaliningrad Branch of the Bank of Moscow.

Deposit indemnity can be paid to the depositors in the amount of 100% of the total sum of their deposits (accounts) kept in the bank, however the total amount of payment will not exceed RUR700 thousand Rubles as required by Federal Law 177-FZ dated December 23, 2003 "On Insuring the deposits of individuals in banks of the Russian Federation". If a depositor has a debt to the bank, the amount of such indebtedness will be deducted from the sum of the deposits (from the balance of the amounts kept at the deposits or accounts). In the case of deposits (accounts) in foreign currencies insurance indemnity will be paid off in Russian RublesRUR as per the exchange rate established by the Bank of Russia on the date of the insurance event.

Irina Nikitenko, vice-president of the Bank of Moscow, said: "The Bank has repeatedly acted as the DIA agent arranging payments to the depositors of problem banks. As a result of this activity, the Bank of Moscow has managed to keep up to 70% of such deposits and therefore has attracted new customers".
