OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 March 2009 Ingosstrakh reminded, that on March 13 there happened a large accident in Vietnam. The tourist bus with 24 Russian tourists and two citizens of Vietnam was going back to Fanthiet after the tour to the town of Dalat situated high in the mountains.  About 7 p.m. local time the bus skid off the serpentinous road and fell into a 200-meter deep precipice. Nine Russians were killed in the accident, 15 got wounded and were delivered to Chorai hospital in Ho Chi Minh.

All the Russian tourists were insured by Ingosstrakh IJSC to the amount of USD 30 000 for medical expenses and to the amount of USD 1 000 – against accidents. 16 persons came from Moscow, 4 – from St. Petersburg and 4 from Surgut. Six tourists from Moscow, two from St. Petersburg and one from Surgut  were killed in the accident.

Right after the announcement about the accident, Ingosstrakh  took part in organizing assistance for the victims. On Saturday, the representative of the company joined the work of the emergency operations center of the Ministry of Emergencies. Yesterday, at 10 a.m. the airplane of the Ministry went to Ho Chi Minh carrying doctors, psychologists and relatives of the victims, as well as the medical equipment for evacuation of the victims.

According to the Head of the Travelers’ Insurance of Ingosstrakh IJSC, Larisa Antonova, the company is providing medical aid to the victims who are now in hospital, as well as is organizing delivery of the bodies to the burial site.

Ingosstrakh IJSC works with Russian tourists all around the world, also in the South-East Asia. Among other large insured accidents there was an accident in the suburbs of Bangkok (Thailand) in January of 2006. At that time the company also helped the tourists and repatriated the bodies.
