OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 March 2009 was announced, that there passed the regular session of the working group chaired by the Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Government and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Karelia Alexander Kolesov to examine enterprises of the Finnish holding.

PKC GROUP is the proprietor of four enterprises operating in Karelia. The most known of them is Karhakos. During the meeting with the Head of the republic Sergey Katanandov held on January 29, president of the company Harri Suutari has informed, that against the background of the crisis development financial conditions were extremely adverse for further work of the enterprises. The parties have discussed opportunities of the joint measures aimed at preservation of enterprises. First of all, Head of the republic has suggested to examine the situation at the enterprises. For this purpose the working group chaired by Alexander Kolesov has been created.

On February 2 the working group has held an exit session where many tasks set by the Finnish party have been solved. At the same time, much remains to be done.

— We have developed a detailed program coordinated by the Head of the RK, — the Assistant to the Prime Minister has told opening the third session. — It is necessary to continue control over its realization.

At the session it was reported on work on fibre-optical signal tracing between Russia and Finland. The rules were submitted for coordination to the supervising bodies of the Russian Federation. Meanwhile, before complete industry commencing of the international fibre-optical communication on the site of Kempele-Kostomuksha and reception of the operation sanction of the supervising bodies of Russia it was decided to leave the issue controlled by the Ministry of Economic Development.

Logistics Director of АЕК, Ltd., Ruslan Sbitnev has informed on reception of positive recommendations from the Finnish bodies of quarantine and fytosanitory control regarding returnable containers for transportation of goods through the border.

Participants of the meeting have also been informed on development of positive cooperation between the Finnish holding and Karelian customs, and development of the most comprehensible schemes for acceleration of customs procedures at transition of cargoes through the Russian-Finnish border.

Decision was also made on decrease in rates and acceleration of issuing compensatory production yield standard-setting act (permit for processing) for Kostomuksha enterprises of PKC GROUP on the part of Petro-Soex, Ltd.

At the session it was also noted, that enterprises of the holding operating in the republic will keep their tax remissions, electric power delivery contracts will be renewed.

Matters at the meeting also concerned industrial and personnel situation at the PKC GROUP enterprises. Production cutback in comparison with the last year has made 2.5 times. Now there work almost 800 employees, no redundancy is planned yet. Search of new customers is conducted for escalating of volumes. In particular, production delivery agreements are concluded with VOLVO - Kaluga and SCANIA.

It has been also noted, that conclusion of the Agreement between the Government and PKC GROUP Finnish holding is planned. The parties have expressed hope for its signeding in the near future.
