OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2009 was announced, that Moscow’s city authorities are to demolish roughly 100,000 square metres of old housing in neighbourhood 19-62 of Novogireevo township and erect almost four times more instead.

“Almost a half of 378,000 square metres of living area to be built will be used for moving residents from the dilapidated houses. It is planned to take down 96,000 square metres of housing,” a source from City Hall said.

The official added that 2 schools, 5 kindergartens, some social and retail objects, an exhibition and business centre, a 400-room hotel and public catering establishments would be developed in the neighbourhood as well.
