OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 March 2009 was announced, that unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies increased 8% in January-February to 6.443 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of March 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 91.3% of the average monthly production volume as of March 1, 2009, up from 53% on January 1, 2009.

Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies increased 67.7% in January-February to 2.969 trillion rubles, of light industry companies 96% to 544 billion rubles, of woodworking and paper industry 8.8% to 295 billion rubles.

Chemical and petrochemical companies’ inventories decreased 18.2% to 655 billion rubles, food-processing companies’ inventories went down 4% to 1.268 trillion rubles, construction materials companies’ stocks decreased 25.2% to 234 billion rubles, ferrous metal companies reported a 38.8% fall in stock to 207 billion rubles, and fuel companies said their inventories fell 93.6% to 52.3 billion rubles.

In February, inventories of trucks rose 8.6% to 3,286 units, of televisions 19.3% to 117,900 units, of refrigerators 61.2% to 139,100 units, of sugar 3.6% to 345,900 tonnes, of tires for farm machines 9% to 39,600 units, of washing machines 7.3% to 48,700 units, of tractors 2.6% to 4,000 units.

At the same time, in February, inventories of chemical fibers went down 3.1% to 12,600 tonnes, and of mineral fertilizers decreased 27.7% to 18,000 tonnes.
