OREANDA-NEWS. On March 23, 2009 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that the baby food advertisement of the "Nutrilon" infant formula was improper and violated Part 2 Article 25 of the Federal Law "On Advertising", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Upon pronouncing the fact of violation, the Antimonopoly Service issued a determination to the advertiser "Nutricia" Ltd. requesting it to stop disseminating the advertisement.

The advertisement was pronounced unfair because it presented the "Nutrilon" infant formula as a wholesome substitute of breast-feeding (breast milk).

The case was initiated upon a petition of "Vimm-Bill-Dann Food Products" OJSC.

According to Part 2 Article 25 of the Federal Law "On Advertising", the advertisements of baby food products cannot present them as wholesome substitutes of breast milk and contain statements on the advantages of formula feeding.
