OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2009. The Yakutsk Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) fined "Sakhaneftegazsbyt" OJSC, "Siboil" Oil Company" Ltd., "Service-Oil" Ltd. and "Stroineftetrans" Group" Ltd. 28 million Rubles, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 20th January 2009, the Commission of the Yakutsk OFAS Russia found that a large economic entity that has dominant position in retail sales of oil products on the regional market of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic - "Sakhaneftegazsbyt" OJSC violated the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition". The company violated the law by fixing monopolistically high prices in selling oil products through petrol stations that exceeded the sun necessary for production and distribution of such goods, and company's expenses and profit.

Later the Antimonopoly Office also found that the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" was violated by "Siboil" Oil Company" Ltd., "Service-Oil" Ltd., "Yakol" Oil Company" CJSC and "Stroineftetrans" Group" Ltd., which engaged in concerted actions for fixing and maintaining prices for oil (АI-92, АI-95, diesel fuel) at the price level set by Sakhaneftegazsbyt" OJSC in selling oil products through petrol stations at the local market in the capital city of the Republic.

Based on its decision, the Yakutsk OFAS Russia initiated administrative proceedings against the above companies.
