OREANDA-NEWS. Alfa-Bank is proud to participate in the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour. This global event took place on 28 March 2009 in over 100 countries. Its goal is to promote energy conservation and raise awareness of climate change, reported the press-centre of Alfa-Bank.

Hundreds of millions of people around the world switched off their lights for one hour at 20:30 local time to show they are concerned about the future of our planet.

Alfa-Bank is encouraging all of its 12,000 employees to take part in Earth Hour.

- Alfa-Bank is working to help protect the world we live in, —says Leonid Ignat, Director of Communications & PR. — The Bank is a member of the World Wildlife Fund, and it has supported projects aimed at preserving flora, fauna and wildlife habitats throughout Russia ever since the WWF first opened a branch here. Information on Earth Hour is available at Alfa-Bank's offices throughout Russia to help our customers find out how they can help save the planet.
