OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 March 2009 was announced, that since the beginning of 2009, Ingosstrakh has paid over RUB 24.6 mln to its clients – agricultural producers. The largest part of this amount (about 95.3%) was paid for insurance of the agricultural crop, another 4.7% - for insurance of the horned livestock and poultry (0.5% and 4.2%, correspondingly).

The largest compensation to the amount of RUB 18.9 mln was paid to Primorskiy farm (Irkutsk region) for the partial loss of the crop of winter wheat, barley and rye. The insured event was the soil drought in summer 2008 in the territory of the region that resulted in a partial loss of crop.

Besides, there were other large payments made by Ingosstrakh: about RUB 1.2 mln to the agribusiness in Karachaevo-Cherkesia for the loss of sunflower and corn crop caused by drought; RUB 0.6 mln to Agroholding Tomskoe Moloko (Tomsk region) for damage to the wheat crop caused by overwetting of soil; about RUB 0.4 and 0.8 mln – to farms in Kalmykia and Samara region for damage to the winter rye and wheat crop caused by freezing out and drought, correspondingly.

Insurance compensations were paid not only to large agricultural producers, but to individual entrepreneurs, too: RUB 1.3 mln – to the head of the Seregino farm, Zhegunov S.A., for the loss of five croppers. Compensation of RUB 0.3 mln was paid to the head of farm in Kalmykia for the loss of winter wheat crop caused by frost. 

All the above insurance contracts (except for the contract with Primorskiy) were signed with the state support.

Since the beginning of 2009, for insurance of animals and poultry, compensations were paid to four heads of farms from Karachaevo-Cherkesia. Ingosstrakh paid compensations of RUB 0.2 mln for horned cattle (cows and grunting oxen) killed in accidents (falling from height, rockfall). Over RUB 1 mln was paid to the poultry farm in the Kemerovo region for layers killed by a heat wave caused by the disconnection of the heat pipe in the poultry house.

The Russian Agricultural Bank (Rosselkkhozbank) is the beneficiary under insurance contracts for animals and poultry, as the livestock was insured within the framework of leveraged insurance.
