OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year decreased 21.3% on the year in January-February 2009 to 550 billion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the Statistics Ministry.

Wood procurement decreased 13% to 481,000 million solid cubic meters, lumber output fell 19.4% to 140,900 cubic meters, and plywood production went down 30.7% to 21,500 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output decreased 38.1% year-on-year to 6.3 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went down 19.4% to 59,200 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output decreased 13.3% to 228 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Paper output went down 13.9% to 6,400 tonnes, wallpaper output went down 49.1% to 9.8 million equivalent pieces, and cardboard output fell 31% to 30,500 tonnes.
