OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 1.5% on the year in January-February to 404,000 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ Statistics and Analysis Ministry told.

Steel output increased 4.1% on the year to 444,000 tonnes, while steel pipe output was down 45.7% on the year to 15,000 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 4.9% on the year to 37,400 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output fell 7% to 14,200 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 14,200 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 7.5% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus decreased 1.4% on the year to 686 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-February 2009.
