OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 April 2009 was announced, that Doctor Web — the Russian anti-virus vendor — releases Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 that protects databases of Domino servers and corporate e-mail from viruses and spam. The anti-virus module scans all e-mails detects malicious programs, neutralizes aftereffects of infection and isolates incurable and suspicious files in the quarantine. All anti-virus routines are performed real-time and can also be scheduled.

Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino 5.0 features the improved anti-virus engine with unique detection and curing capabilities. The scanning has become even faster than before. The user-friendly web-interface allows an administrator to configure the anti-virus and control its operation using virtually any browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera).

The anti-spam module of Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino divides spam messages into three categories and allows an administrator to specify actions for each category of unwanted e-mail. A system administrator can remove a spam message from the server so a supposed recipient won’t receive it or move the message into a separate database to be able to restore it to its original location later if necessary. A new category has also been introduced for objects that can’t be scanned by the anti-virus. If the anti-virus is unable to check an attached file, the file can be moved to the quarantine automatically. In such cases a user will receive a text file with notification attached instead of the quarantined file.

Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino is certified by IBM and included in the Lotus Business Solutions Catalog
