OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 April 2009 was announced, that despite the global financial crisis, the builders of Moscow plan to keep the pace of housing construction in the Russian capital.

“The volume of construction will be maintained even this year,” Vladimir Resin, first deputy Moscow Mayor, head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow, said on April 2.

The official noted that social homes and facilities were still under construction in Moscow by means of the city budget.

“What we cannot do due to the city budget funds, we do drawing investors in. This is quite feasible,” Mr Resin emphasized.

According to the first deputy mayor of Moscow, the builders have fulfilled the tasks of implementing the investment contracts scheduled for the first quarter of 2009.

“The volume of the works completed isn’t lower than the 2008 index,” Mr Resin said.

The head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow added that City Hall would find the means necessary to fulfil the tasks of building.

“We will do our best to make Muscovites feel no departure from the general [urban development] plan scheduled till 2025,” Mr Resin concluded.
