OREANDA-NEWS. April 7, 2009. Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense will equip all secret service battalions of Kazakhstan Armed Forces with BKM armoured vehicles on KAMAZ-43269 chassis.

This news was announced by Danial Akhmetov, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during his visit to Almaty (Alma-Ata) Region last weekend.

“For the first time we ordered these armoured vehicles last year, – he said. – The successfully tested vehicles will be delivered to all secret service battalions of Kazakhstan Armed Forces.”

The first batch of BKM KAMAZ was delivered to Kazakhstan at the end of 2008.

According to Yevgeny Pospelov, a detached secret service battalion commander, his unit is armed with 18 such vehicles. They are not slower than ordinary KAMAZ vehicles. One unit of up to 10 people can be accommodated in armoured vehicles which are equipped with installations for a large-calibre machinegun and a grenade launcher.
