OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2009. The largest share in the total Moldovan export volume in January-February 2009 fell to vegetable production – 22.8% (US 38.4 million).

It is 2.3 times more than in January-February 2008. According to the National Statistics Bureau, it is followed by textile and goods made of it – 22.3% (US 37.6 million, minus 14.4%), foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco – 21.1% (US 35.5 million, -10%), machines and instrumentation; electrotechnical equipment, audio- and video gear – 11.3% (US 19.1 million, +15.5%), fat and oil of animal and vegetable origin – 4% (US 6.7 million, - 25%), shoes, head-dresses, umbrellas and similar goods – 2,9% (US 4.9 million, - 46.1%), goods made of plastic and caoutchouc – 2.1% (US 3.5million, minus 39.8%).

The total volume of export from Moldova in January-February 2009 totaled US 168.1 million, down 19.1% against the same period last year.
