OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2009. Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding, has announced that at the end of April it will recommission its reconstructed electric arc furnace (EAF) No. 4, with an increased capacity of 20 mt compared to the previous 10 mt.

Currently, ZMZ is finishing the reconstruction of its EAF No. 4, which was carried out within ZMZ’s project for the modernization of its production facilities, started in 2006 and scheduled to be finished in 2011.

The recommissioning of EAF No. 4 will allow ZMZ to increase its electrosmelting shop’s capacity to 2,000 mt of steel per month.

In April, ZMZ’s electrosmelting facilities will operate at full capacity.
