OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ OAO Mozyr NPZ [the oil refinery located in the Gomel Region] will spend 26 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) on support for three petrochemical companies in 2009, an official in the supervisory board of the refinery reported.

The decision was made by the annual meeting of shareholders.

The move had been initiated by the state.

“The refinery spends a lot on charity. Mozyr NPZ finances the construction of a health center in Mozyr worth U.S. USD 50 million. But these 26 billion rubles will be spent on three petrochemical companies under Belneftekhim – Medplast, Rechitsa textile and Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno,” he added.

The decision was passed by the annual meeting because the state has a majority vote.
