OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2009. The Federal Financial Markets Service (FFMS) has registered an issue of additional shares of Energoatom Concern OJSC worth a total of 297bln RUR to placed by closed subscription.

The issue consists of 297,279,400,000 ordinary shares worth 1 RUR. The shares will be placed in favor of the only shareholder of the Concern, Atomenergoprom OJSC.

By placing the shares the Concern will receive budgetary funds for its NPP construction projects. At the first stage, the Government will provide the money as property contribution to Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, which will give it to Atomenergoprom by buying its additional shares. Atomenergoprom has been authorized to coordinate Russia’s nuclear energy development program.

As was reported earlier, Feb 26 2009 the FFMS registered an issue of additional shares of Atomenergoprom. Rosatom will pay 300bln RUR for the shares. The objective of the issue is to obtain state funds and to consolidate assets.

Energoatom Concern OJSC operates all Russian nuclear power plants – 31 reactors with a total capacity of 23GW.
