OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ fruit and vegetable juice imports decreased 2.3 times on the year in January-February 2009, to 4,009 tonnes from about 9,200 tonnes, worth U.S. USD 5.24 million, down 44.3% on the year in monetary terms, the Statistics Ministry told.

Russian juice imports were down 2.5 times on the year to 1,726 tonnes, which cost USD 1.733 million, an decrease of 2.7 times.

Imports from Ukraine decreased 3.4 times on the year in January-February 2009 to 810 tonnes worth USD 745,000, a decline by 2.6 times.

The main non-CIS suppliers were Israel with 803 tonnes, up 13.9%, worth USD 1.54 million, up 14%, and Germany with 113 tonnes, down 49%, worth USD 165,000, down 23%. Imports from Brazil rose 190% to 119 tonnes to the amount of USD 258,000, up 190%.
