OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ state concern Belgospischeprom has worked out a package of measures to curb the increase in prices for foods produced by the companies subordinate to the concern, Belgospischeprom said in a statement.

The concern will focus on monitoring and price controls.

Food producers are not supposed to increase selling prices (tariffs) more than 0.8%-0.9% in excess of the inflation target. All new prices exceeding the forecast must pass a review.

The concern will focus on products that use imported components.

The directors that allow groundless price increases will be brought to disciplinary liability, and their contracts may be terminated.

The concern will soon approve a list of commodities that will be subject to final retail prices (set by producers) and include discounts for retailers.

Belgospischeprom was established in 2000 and includes 50 organizations.
