OREANDA-NEWS. On April 14, 2009 Mr. Gintaras Vilda, aged 44, has been appointed the General Manager of Respublikinis Energetiku Mokymo Centras VSI (National Energy Training Center) – an institution established by Lietuvos Energija AB. Previously he worked as Director of Business Development Division, Director of Strategy Department of VST AB. The new head of the training center has 25 years of work experience in the electricity sector, reported the press-centre of Lietuvos Energija.

The key goals, raised for the new manager – to update the business strategy of the energy training center and to implement innovations, necessary for improvement of its activities”, - says Mr.Darius Masionis, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Lietuvos Energija AB. According to him, G.Vilda possesses all requisite competences, necessary to upgrade the company to a new qualitative level.

The energy training center should help individuals adapt to important social changes ongoing within the electricity sector, conditioned by the rapid development of technologies and national interests.  This should be a type of a tool for the managers, enabling their staff to effectively alter or develop their skills. Therefore it is imperative that knowledge in this center is made easily accessible and most importantly - smoothly applicable”, - said Mr. G.Vilda. According to the new manager, the staff of the ETC will also have to undergo training, qualifications upgrade and closely cooperate with its clients. The task of this center is to constantly locate new information and propose ways of how the acquired knowledge could be practically applied in client companies. Our goal is to cater for the needs of knowledge within the energy sector, project the new ones and accumulate new knowledge for the upcoming projects”, - said Mr. G.Vilda.

In his former workplace – Elektromontuotojas UAB, G. Vilda worked as Director of Business Development where he was in charge for sales, business development, innovations and knowledge management. G.Vilda created and implemented systems of knowledge, personnel qualifications upgrade, perspective planning, structure of innovative company, initiated the process of standards and Code of Honor. 

While working for VST, Mr. G.Vilda, starting from the position of an electrician, later pursued his career as a foreman, deputy head and ultimately – Director of Strategy Department.

Mr. Vilda himself was numerously a trainee at ETC where he acquired a certificate for performance of special works under voltage of up to 110 kV.

Briefly about the national energy training center (ETC):
The national energy training center was established by Lietuvos Energija AB. As an institution of professional training for adults, ETC has been functioning since 1964. The training center has a staff of 50 full-time employees: specialists, teachers, instructors and clerks. Another 300 lecturers-consultants are yearly invited to give lectures on a specific subject. ETC has divisions in Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys, Utena and Ukmerge. During the year around 10 000 people attend courses of various duration. Some of the major clients of ETC are: Vilnius employment office, Lietuvos Energija AB, Rytu Skirstomieji Tinklai AB, Mitnija UAB, Vilniaus Energija AB, Projektana UAB, Ventus-Nafta AB, etc.
