OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2009. According to the sources in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, the Board of Directors of the World Bank should approve the corresponding funding on May 14, 2009.

The Ministry reported that on 30-31 March negotiations between the Government of Moldova and the International Development Association for additional funding of US10 million of the Second Rural and Services Investment Project (RISP II) which is in the process of implementation were held.

The proposed additional financing should support the development of such components of RISP II as agricultural consultancy services, services for development of rural business and rural finance services (credit lines).

RISP II project should stimulate post-privatization growth in the agricultural and rural sector by improving access of agricultural producers and rural businesses to knowledge, modern technology and finance, as well as assist in ensuring stable operation of private and public institutions.
