OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2009. Customs Service of Moldova is developing integrated customs tariff of Moldova (TARIM) for improving the efficiency of legislation in the field of import and export of goods.

As it was informed in the Customs Service, the development of the tariff will allow identifying all regulations relating to certain imported, exported or transit goods. As the Director of the Customs Service Viorel Melnic noted, this instrument will be created in Moldova for the first time.

Thus, a working group, which completes the analysis of regulations to establish the regulations in the field of foreign trade of goods, extraction of products that are subject to measures of economic policy and their codification in accordance with the nomenclature list of goods, was created.

Each of them will receive certain code or several codes required for the customs clearance. Introduction of TARIM reduces costs of the customs procedures, the risk of incorrect customs operations, the number of complaints from economic agents, as well as the number of appeals to the courts.

In addition, use of TARIM practically reduces cases of abuses by the customs officers. Economic agents - exporters and importers - will be informed about the documents to be submitted to the Customs, as well as the amount of taxes applied to goods, determined by the tariff code.
