OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 April 2009 was announced, that Close JSC UTair Cargo - the affiliated undertaking of JSC UTair Aviation carried out the first commercial flight on the plane An-74 performing the route Tyumen-Nizhnevartovsk-Tyumen.

Putting into operation of a modern cargo-passenger An-74 opens up new prospects in the development of cargo market for UTair Cargo. Technical characteristics of the aircraft allow to perform non-stop flights on the territories stretching over 3,5 thousand km., and the mass of commercial loading of An-74 can make 7,5 tons. The fluid-tight cargo section of the plane is adopted for the transportation of different cargoes and the passenger section is fitted for the transportation of ten people.

UTair-Cargo is going to acquire the second plane An-74. The company is eager to exploit the second plane for the maintenance of cargo-passenger flights on the territory of Western and Eastern Siberia. An-74 is also to be used for the realization of peace-support mission according to the contracts with UNO: the aircraft is easily reinstalled into a sanitary, fire-descent and other variants.

UTair-Cargo specializes in the performance of charter passenger and cargo flights. It has the permit for the transportation of dangerous cargoes. The air fleet of the company consists of cargo-passenger planes An-74 and An-26-100, all-cargo aircraft An-26B and planes An-2 of different modification. The aircrafts of UTair-Cargo transported over 1 170 tons of cargo and mail, over 40 thousand passengers in 2008.
