OREANDA-NEWS. On April 15, 2009 the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Novosibirsk region (OFAS Russia) imposed administrative charges upon "Gazpromneft'-Novosibirsk" OJSC under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In accord with Article 14.31 of the Code, the Novosibirsk OFAS Russia imposed an administrative fine upon на "Gazpromneft'-Novosibirsk" OJSC, calculated on the basis of the proceeds gained by the company from retail sales of oil products from 1st January 2008 to 31st December 2008 in the Novosibirsk region. As a result, the company was fined 13'110'920 Rubles.

On 13th March 2009, the Novosibirsk OFAS Russia found that "Gazpromneft'-Novosibirsk" OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition". The company violated the law by maintaining unreasonably high retail prices for motor petrol and diesel fuel despite low purchasing prices, which directly infringed the interests of consumers (the buyers) of oil products. By committing the violation, "Gazpromneft'-Novosibirsk" OJSC abused its dominant position on the retail markets of motor petrol and diesel fuel.
