OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2009. A delegation the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) visited Kyiv upon invitation of the Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee. В состав делегации вincluded Alexander Kinev, the Head of the Anticartel Department of FAS Russia, and Lesya Davydova, the Head of the FAS Russia's Department for International Economic Cooperation, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In course of the visit, FAS Russia's delegation held several meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee, where the antimonopoly authorities of Russia and Ukraine exchanged information about the regulatory framework and practical measures undertaken against cartels, and discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation.

On 15th April 2009 the FAS Russia's delegation and representatives of the antimonopoly authorities from other CIS states took part in the session of the Sub-Group for improving cartel investigation, of the Headquarters for investigating antimonopoly violations in the CIS states.

The participants approved a proposal, put forward by Russia and Ukraine, on robust efforts against anticompetitive concerted actions, especially cartels, operating in the two and more CIS states.

The participants also determined the main lines of activity of the Sub-Group and discussed proposals for the markets where joint investigations will be useful and other aspects of increasing cooperation between the antimonopoly authorities of the CIS states.
