OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ gross domestic product (GDP) grew 1.1% on the year in January-March 2009 to 29.1 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Industrial output in January-March decreased 4.5% on the year to 28.4 trillion rubles.

Farm output as of April 1, 2009 stood at 3.5 trillion rubles, up 6.3% on the year in the period.

In 2008, Belarus’ GDP grew 10% on the year to 128.8 trillion Belarusian rubles. Industrial output amounted to 127.5 trillion rubles, up 10.8% on the year. Farm output increased 8.9% to 26.9 trillion rubles.
