OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2009. A meeting of Roscosmos Board took place today. The topic of the session was international cooperation of the Russian Federation in space exploration.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian President`s Administration, Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Economical Development, Federal Export and Technical Control Office, Federal Space Agency, Russian industry.
Roscosmos Head Anatoly Perminov opened the meeting. In particular, he said:

"The objective of this meeting is to evaluate the results of Russian international cooperation in space programs, to make proper predictions for the future and to plan evolution of Russian collaboration in this area...
The main goal of the Russian Federation is to take part in global space projects and initiatives, as well as to strengthen position of Russia in the world space market...

Roscosmos has active position in international space activities. We have more than 70 intergovernmental agreements in place (including multirateral agreements on the ISS and KOSPAS-SARSAT); we also have more than 40 inter-agency agreements with the foreign space agencies, and cooperation agreements with 38 countries".

The report at the session was made by Sergey Saveliev, Roscosmos Deputy Head.

The resolution of the Board defines that Roscosmos activites in the international field is aimed at pursuance of the state policy for Russia to keep its position of the world space leader.
Future ojectives include:
• support of the state interest in foreign economic activities wrt products, data, services, intellectual outcome;
• increase effectiveness of the space industry in foreign economic activities by uniting their international cooperation experience, etc.
