OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 May 2009 the Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, Vyksa District, Nizhniy Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), had reported its operating results for March 2009. In the reporting month, CRC produced 53,063 tonnes of hot-rolled coils, 9,873 tonnes of strips, and 2,159 tonnes of plates. The output plan for March was fully implemented.

In March, 41,952 tonnes of rolled coils were shipped to the main consumers of CRC's products – OMK's Vyksa Steel Works (VSW) and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, including 37,563 tonnes to VSW. The shipments of strips and plates accounted for 7,869 tonnes and 1,639 tonnes respectively. The shipment plan for March was implemented.

"CRC has doubled its production figures as compared with February: for the first time, more than 50,000 tonnes of products have been shipped," said Aleksandr Zhukov, CRC Deputy CEO – Head of the Department for Production and Logistics. "In March, for the first time ever, 3,200 tonnes of hot-rolled coils were produced at CRC within 24 hours. In addition, for the first time has the casting and rolling been done continuously for 11 hours. The project capacity provides for 12 hours."

CRC's output plan for April is as follows: 70,344 tonnes of hot-rolled coils, 9,755 tonnes of plates, and 12,550 tonnes of strips.
