OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2009. The state-run and private cattle farms affiliated with Turkmenmallary Association completed the lambing campaign. This spring livestock breeders have raised over 1.5 million heads of lambs of karakul breed for the most part that is as many as 1,000 heads of lambs than planned. In Turkmenistan the livestock population has increased as many as 6.190 million heads in total.

During these days shepherds in collaboration with Turkmenmallary specialists, agricultural workers and veterinarians carry on the work to preserve and promote growth of young animals in distant pastures.

Sufficient amount of fodder and comfortable conditions for wintering considerably contributed to success of the lambing campaign.

After completing the campaign cattle breeders receive a half of animal yield as payment that is a powerful incentive for them to work harder. A new stage of the large-scale agricultural reform as well as the benefits provided to agricultural workers promote developing cattle breeding sector which plays an important role in creating abundance of food products in the country and increasing the welfare of rural workers.
