OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 May 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 6.4% on the year in January-March to 648,000 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ Statistics and Analysis Ministry told.

Steel output increased 2.3% on the year to 676,000 tonnes, while steel pipe output was down 48.4% on the year to 22,400 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 6.8% on the year to 58,700 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output fell 6.4% to 21,300 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 22,400 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 6% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 2.7% on the year to 1.062 trillion Belarusian RURles (Br) in January-March 2009.
