OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 May 2009 was announced, that Serbian businesses are interested in building large retail centers in Belarus and cooperating in colza cultivation, Serbia’s Ambassador to Belarus Srecko Djukic told a news conference.

“Our companies are very much interested in these projects, and there have been specific plans to open retail centers as early as in 2009. The crisis postponed these plans, but companies never gave up these projects,” the diplomat said.

He also said the delegation of Serbian businesses that had visited Minsk on March 31 was interested in cultivating colza in Belarus for industrial purposes.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Milos Bugarin, said Serbia was also interested in working on the Belarusian market of metals, foods, chemicals, textiles, as well as in the construction sector.

According to him, Minsk will host the National Exposition of Serbia on May 26-28, and Belarus is expected to hold its national exposition in Serbia in 2010.
