OREANDA-NEWS. May 19, 2009. Kazakhtelecom (Astana), the listed company of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), informed KASE that on May 13, 2009 in Astana was signed the cooperation agreement between Kazakhtelecom and Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, reported the press-centre of KASE.

The document was signed within "Kazakhstan and Korean business forum: new growth horizons" with participation of Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Korea Nursultan Nazarbaev and Lee Men Baka.

The cooperation agreement of the leading telecommunications operator of Kazakhstan and Korean Scientific Research Institute was signed by Kazakhtelecom Board Chairman Askar Zhumagaliev and ETRI President Mun-Kiy Tsoi.

The cooperation will be aimed at development of the broad banded access, the WiBro technology (often called mobile WiMAX) and technologies standardization, in particular of the e-learning project implementation.
