OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 May 2009 was announced, that the Sixth All-Ukrainian Student Olympics under the auspices of Unicredit Group started on May 12, 2009. The event is being traditionally held by JSCB Ukrsotsbank in spring since 2004. The main goal of the event is to help talented students to identify and develop their own abilities, and create favorable environment for professional realization of young specialists.

The first round of the Olympics consisted of remote testing in online mode according to the location of higher educational institutions, students from which participate in the Olympics. Students answered to 80 questions on banking, management, economic theory and English financial terminology.

946 students from 61 higher educational institutions of Ukraine participated in online testing.

Competent jury determined the winners of the first round: 15 students who showed the best result. Winners are invited to participate in the final round of the Olympics to be held May 23, 2009 in Kyiv and will provide implementation of creative competitive tasks. All finalists will be awarded certificates of the winner of the 1st round of Olympics, gold ingots and plastic cards. They have right to do internship with banks of UniCredit Group in Ukraine.

Winners of final competition in individual championship will receive money prizes (1st place - 6000 UAH, 2nd place - 4000 UAH, 3rd place - 2000 UAH) and the right of employment in the banks of UniCredit Group in Ukraine after obtaining the diploma of a full higher education.

According to the results of testing students who score from 5300 points and followed the requirements of time passed into the TOP-100 best students of Ukraine rating. They will be awarded the relevant certificates with the right to do an internship with banks of Unicredit Group in Ukraine.

Students who score the highest score in their institution were awarded the Best Student of Higher Education Institution certificates.

There was also created a rating of education institutions of Ukraine following the average test result which reflects the level of training of banking and finance specialists.
