OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 May 2009 was announced, that opening of Maryina Roshcha and Dostoevskaya stations of the Moscow metro scheduled earlier for late 2009 is postponed for 5 months.

“We have already built the escalator bents at Maryina Roshcha and Dostoevskaya stations but commissioning of them is postponed for 5 months due to the shortage of means. But these stations will surely be placed in operation next year,” head of the Moscow Metro, Dmitry Gaev, told journalists on May 13.

The official added that Mitino station would be open on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line in 2009.

According to him, among the top priority tasks are to build a railway line to Zhulebino, to prolong the Butovskaya line and link it to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line, to complete the radial system Tretiyakovskaya – Delovoy Tsentr – Solntsevo, to develop the third interchange loop and the line Kozhukhovo – Lyubertsy – Nekrasovka.

Mr Gaev noted that, as it had been planned, the coverage of the Moscow metro would be extended by 50-60 kilometres by 2015.

The Moscow City Government amended the program aimed at developing the underground railway system during the financial crisis scheduled for 4 years to come in March 2009.
