OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 May 2009 was announced, that a number of new industrial and social facilities, a modern power system, a water supply, sewage and water treatment facilities will be built in the city of Bereket, Balkan region of Turkmenistan. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed a relevant decree.

According to the document, by October 2010, the city mayor's office, four houses, two schools and a kindergarten, a house of culture, hospital, clinic, hotel, new carpet enterprise and sewing factory will be constructed in Bereket.

There will also be built a number of engineering facilities, including water, sewage and water treatment facilities, two pumping stations supplying the city with drinking water and 22 kilometers of intercity roads will be renovated.

The President also instructed to construct and equip the city railway locomotive depot, bus and automobile station, and telephone exchange for 1000 numbers, shopping center and market, and quarry management.

The document allows bringing foreign companies and local organizations irrespective of their forms of ownership as contractors on the competitive basis, holding tenders for the purchase of materials and equipment abroad.

Bereket will be one of the major railway junctions on the Uzen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan railway, which is under construction, set to become an essential part of the North - South international transport and communications corridor.
