OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2009. Shakhovsky and Krasnogorsky municipal districts of the Moscow Region have held roundtable discussions arranged by OJSC ROSNO-MS and dedicated to provision of guarantees and protection of insurants’ rights in the obligatory medical insurance system, reported the Official website ROSNO.

Among the participants of the roundtable discussions were representatives of the municipal administrations, public associations, mass media, heads of medical institutions and MOFOMS branches.

Mr. Vladimir Dereglazov, Deputy CEO of OJSC ROSNO-MS, acquainted the audience with the company’s concept for provision of guarantees and protection of insurants’ rights and its vision of methods for practical implementation thereof, promotion of healthy lifestyle and provision of extensive information to the insurants regarding their rights in the OMI system.

The participants were also acquainted with comparative analysis of major medico-demographic issues in the Russian Federation and the countries of Europe, and heard the year 2008 performance results of the medical institutions based in Shakhovsky and Krasnogorsky municipal districts.

All of the roundtable participants shared the common opinion that guaranteeing affordability and high quality of medical services in the OMI system must be of top priority for all obligatory medical insurance entities. The following conclusions have been made: the general public must be advised more extensively on its rights for provision of affordable or free medical services under the OMI program, while the municipal administrations and medical institutions should pay special attention to promoting healthy lifestyles and explaining how health protection depends on timely visits to doctors and preventive care.
