OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 May 2009 was announced, that from 18 through 22 May, Baltika Breweries took part in the very large multi-industry forum Cross-Straits Fair which each year brings together entrepreneurs from both shores of the Taiwan Straits (capitalistic Taiwan and continental PRC).

The Russian brewing industry was represented at the forum by Baltika Breweries. At the Company’s stand, the entire line-up of the Baltika brand was presented for tasting. Russia’s largest brewery company cooperates in China with 4 importers and with more than 20 regional distributors. The official distributor of Baltika’s products in the province of Fujian is the company Fuzhou Juntai Trading Co Ltd, and the importer is Jinan Baltic Beer Sales Co Ltd.

China is the largest and fastest growing beer market in the world (24% of the world market in terms of volume; 47% of incremental growth of the world market during 2003-2008). Baltika is one of the leading brands on the market of imported beer in China. The Company regularly takes part in the largest Chinese beer festivals.

In 2008, Baltika Breweries sold around 1.2 million litres of beer in China. This was more than twice the sales results of 2007. Baltika beer is positioned in China in the super-premium imported segment. The average price of a 0.5-litre bottle in retail amounts to 12 yuan (56 rubles). The main consumers of Baltika beer in China are inhabitants of large cities with a high level of income.

Baltika Breweries has been exporting its products to the People’s Republic of China and to the island of Taiwan since 2004. Today Russia’s famous beer is sold in all key regions of the country. Baltika is the only exporter of beer from Russia to China.
