OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2009. Russia’s Ministry of industry and trade summed up the results of the competition "Best Russia’s exporter of 2008". According to these results JSC "Scientific-production corporation "Irkut" won in the nomination "Aircraft manufacturing".

Within the past few years Irkut Corporation displays stable growth of export deliveries. Company’s order book amounts to 3.8 bln.USD. The Corporation accounts for over 15 % of Russia’s defense export.

Irkut’s key products are combat aircraft of Su-30-type. Diversifying its product range Corporation develops and produces Be-200 multirole amphibian aircraft, Yak-130 combat-trainer jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, components for Airbus passenger liners. Recently Irkut commenced development of MC-21 new-generation passenger airliner.

Deputy Minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov highlights: Irkut is well-known for accurate fulfillment of its obligations to customers, state and partners. Corporation’s production program is finalized for the next few years. According to a single concept it carries on developing aircraft, re-equipping production facilities, training personnel, tackling social issues".

According to Irkut President Oleg Demchenko, "high praise from Ministry of industry and trade testifies to the fact that Irkut Corporation has selected a correct development strategy.  We plan not only to increase the aircraft production for the foreign customers but also to accelerate works for the Russian state. The deliveries of Yak-130 combat-trainers to the Russian AF will commence shortly. Creation of MC-21 airliner envisaged by the Federal task program for developing civil aviation is underway in full compliance with the plan".
