OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2009 was announced, that Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia gave the consent to TGC-5 OJSC, being a part of IES-Holding, to obtain 100% of shares in the authorized capital of “Udmurt Communal Systems” (UCS), LLC.

The transfer of UCS’s block of stock belonging to IES-Holding to the generation company is the corporate procedure of IES within the bounds of establishment of a single vertically integrated power holding. Currently, IES-Holding is a major shareholder in both companies. The establishment of such a business-model increases significantly the openness and controllability of the company.

Therefore IES-Holding’s heat assets in Udmurtia are structured into a single technological chain including production, transportation of heat energy and sales to consumers. The integration of generating production capacities and heating networks into a single unit within one company will increase the quality of operation and maintenance of the main and distributive heat lines that will result in reliability improvement of heat supply to the citizens and industrial consumers in Izhevsk and Sarapul.

The concentration of heat business in TGC-5 (IES “Generation of Urals” Division) enables to solve several engineering and economical objectives, particularly, to load CHPP in a more efficient way, in accordance with the actual demand for power and heat energy, improve the hydraulic mode of network water consumption and to accept economically efficient decisions.

It is worth mentioning that business structuring will allow synchronizing repair campaigns at CHPP’s and heating networks in the long view. Repairs management process from one center will provide more optimal periods of hot water shutdowns for consumers and improve the quality of works.
