OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 May 2009 was announced, that in the cold shop of CJSC “CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE” (Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region) acceptance tests of the up-to-date KPW-25 cold-rolling mill of the leading German producer SMS MEER were started. The investments into the mill total USD 5.1 millions.

This equipment will allow the company to enhance its production capacities, and also to improve quality of cold-shaped tubes with the outer diameter 8-30 mm. Average efficiency of the KPW-25 mill is 280 meters per hour, that is three times higher than the current productivity of drawing-tubes mills at the plant.

In August this year the company plans to launch the second analogues KPW-25 mill. Besides cold-rolling capacities enhancement, CJSC “CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE” is to launch a new tube pressing line also this year, as it was informed before.

Information about KPW-25

KPW-25 cold pilger mills are used for the reduction of tubular products of all metals. The reduction ratios reach more than 85% in case of austenitic stainless steels. Ingoing tube lengths of up to 8 meters are possible to have tubes of 30 meters in the result.
