OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2009. The new aircraft Boeing 737/300 that has been leased-in by Belavia-Belarusian Airlines arrived at the National Airport Minsk on May 23, 2009.

Belavia has signed the Agreement for the delivery of Boeing on the terms of operating lease with International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC, the USA), one of the leading worldwide companies.

The aircraft has been operated by the Chinese “Air China” for several years before its taking on lease by Belavia.

Within the framework of the Government Programme for the development of civil aviation in the Republic of Belarus by 2010 Belavia - Belarusian Airlines continues to renew its fleet by acquiring the Western-built aircraft, and now Belavia has a fleet of 4 Boeing 737/500, 1 Boeing 737/300, 3 CRJ 100/200 LR, 4 TU- 154 M and 1 TU- 134.

After delivery and customs clearance of Boeing 737/300 it is planned to utilize it primarily in charter operations.

Belavia expects to acquire the third Boeing 737/300 in this June. Thus, the Airline will introduce 4 modern aircraft (2 Boeing 737/300 and 2 CRJ 200 LR) during the first half of year 2009.

Active modernization of the airline fleet will give more opportunities for its clients to obtain the service of high level.
