OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2009. The Bank of Moscow in cooperation with Bank "Intercommerz" has introduced fine payment terminals for the Road Traffic Police (GIBDD)

The Bank of Moscow in cooperation with Bank "Intercommerz" has made it possible for the Road Traffic Police (GIBDD) of Moscow to collect fine payments by means of bank cards.

Within the framework of the project payment terminals have been installed allowing the road traffic rules trespassers to pay fines directly at the place where the charge sheet on the relevant administrative offence is drawn (in traffic guard cars, posts, stations, offence analysis groups).

Money is debited on-line, a fine amount is remitted within one bank day from the date of transaction.

"Non-cash settlements by means of plastic cards have a number of advantages. On the one hand, it allows to materially reduce the time and efforts for the payment of fines by the drivers who have infringed road traffic rules, and on the other hand, it ensures fast and guaranteed receipt of money by the budget," Pavel Gorbatsevich, Vice-president of the Bank of Moscow noted. "The equipment has successfully passed operational testing in the Central administrative district of Moscow where 80 terminals are installed. The results of the pilot project that was launched in February, 2009 show that the payment of the traffic infraction citations in the subdivisions equipped with payments terminals has increased three-fold. From the beginning of 2009 the new service has been used by about 10 thousand car drivers".

Three thousand fine payment terminals are planned to be installed in Moscow and Moscow area.

"The equipment supplied has all the necessary certificates, the operation technology fully meets the standards of Russian Federation Law and the requirements of the international payment systems," Alexander Bugaevsky, Board Chairman of Bank Intercommerz commented.
