On 28 May 2009 was COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, announced that ZAO Intersvyaz-Service, a member of Interlink Group (owned by COMSTAR-UTS), has launched provision of regional area telephone communication services in Ryazan Region.

The regional telephone communication network was built according to schedule and was subject to routine expertise in compliance with Regulations for commissioning of communication facilities. The operator has arranged its network connection terminals in the administrative center and all 25 municipal districts of Ryazan Region.

The operator provides its regional area telephone communication services subject to a permit to operate the regional telephone communication network and license No. 37424 granted by Federal Service for Mass Communication Supervision.

“Construction of the regional telephone communication network in Ryazan Region and obtaining a permit for its commercial operation is a step forward in development of COMSTAR-UTS in Ryazan Region”, Igor Basharin, Director General of ZAO Intersvyaz-Service said. “Operation of the regional telephone communication network will enable to cut expenses for provision of telecommunication services, bringing us extra revenues. Besides, in the nearest future, we will be ready to provide our subscribers with domestic long distance and international communication by COMSTAR-UTS, and we will serve subscribers as an agent of this operator. Thus, Intersvyaz-Service shall offer to its customers a complete range of fixed telephony services: local, regional, domestic long distance and international communication”, Mr. Basharin added.
