OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2009. In course of a field trip, the Inter-branch Working Group on retail sales of motor fuel discovered facts of illegal selling of motor fuel from road tankers and modular stations in the Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad region. An illegal road tanker was задержан on the ring road, and a modular station was found in Sertolovo, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Currently experts of the Leningrad Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) are examining the documents, obtained in course of the inspection, to ascertain the violations. If necessary, the materials will be forwarded to the Commercial Crime Unit.

Fuel of unclear origin is being sold under the brands of the chains of fuelling stations, well-known in St Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The Leningrad OFAS Russia, that heads the Working Group, aims primarily at eliminating unfair competition on the market of retails sales of motor fuel and preventing illegal business activities that infringe the interests and of the law-abiding market participants and damage their reputation.
