OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2009. Yuri Volokhonsky has been appointed manager of Sviaz-Bank’s branch in Rostov, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.

Mr. Volokhonsky was born in Rostov on Don in 1963. In 1984, he graduated cum laude from the Rostov Institute of the National Economy in labor economics. He graduated from yet another higher educational institution, Rostov State University, in law as his major in 1996. He went on to earn a master’s degree in economics, followed by a doctorate in business administration from the Academy of the National Economy in 2008. In 2009, Mr. Volokhonsky was awarded a DBA by the European International Management Institute.

Mr. Volokhonsky first went into banking in 1991, when he got a job at the Yugmebelbank Commercial Bank. Between July 1993 and February 1997, he was vice chairman of the Southern Region Commercial Bank’s management board. In March 1997, Mr. Volokhonsky was appointed deputy director of the Rostov Regional Branch of the Agroprombank Commercial Bank, and in January 1998 he was made deputy director, and soon director of the Rostov Regional Branch of the SBS-Agro Commercial Bank, a position he held until August 2000. Between September 2000 and November 2008, Mr. Volokhonsky was the CEO of the Rostov Regional Branch of Rosselkhozbank, Ltd.

Yuri Volokhonsky joined Sviaz-Bank in March 2009 as head of the regional project launched by the Branch Network Management and Development Department.
