OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 June 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year decreased 23.4% on the year in January-April 2009 to 1.154 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Wood procurement decreased 14.5% to 862,000 million solid cubic meters, lumber output fell 17.7% to 308,500 cubic meters, and plywood production went down 22.9% to 47,700 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output decreased 41.9% year-on-year to 12.3 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went down 35.5% to 100,300 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output decreased 21% to 446.3 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Paper output went down 1.8% to 17,600 tonnes, wallpaper output went down 39.4% to 24.8 million equivalent pieces, and cardboard output fell 24.5% to 69,000 tonnes.
