OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2009. 1. On Declaring the Third 100 Litas Commemorative Coin from the Series Dedicated to Mark the Millennium Anniversary of the Mention of the Name of Lithuania as Legal Tender and its Issue into Circulation

The Board of the Bank of Lithuania decided to announce the third 100 litas gold commemorative coin from the series dedicated to mark the millennium anniversary of the mention of the name of Lithuania as legal tender and issue it into circulation from 26 June 2009.

The graphic design of this coin was created by artist Bronius Leonavicius and the plaster model was made by Giedrius Paulauskis.

The coins will be minted by UAB „Lietuvos monetu kalykla“ (Lithuanian Mint). The mintage of the coin is 10,000 pieces. The first coin from the series of three gold coins was issued in 2007 and the second in 2008.
